Pupil Premium
Early Years Pupil Premium
What is Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)?
Pupil Premium is a government fund given to eligible pupils to ensure that all children have an equal opportunity to learn and achieve. The nursery school can receive up to £388 per year for each eligible child.
How is Early Years Pupil Premium used?
This additional funding will enable us to provide extra resources, bringing learning benefits to eligible pupils as well as other children who attend the nursery school.
Who is entitled to Early Years Pupil Premium?
A child will be eligible for EYPP if the child receives either:
- the universal 15 hours entitlement for 3 and 4-year-olds
or
- the 15 hours entitlement for disadvantaged 2-year-olds
or
- from April 2024, the 15 hours entitlement for children aged 2 years of working parents
or
- from September 2024, the 15 hours entitlement for children aged 9 months to 2-years-old of working parents
and they meet any of the following criteria:
1) Their family gets one of the following:
- Income support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided they are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit - run-on, which is paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
- Universal Credit - your household income must be less than £7,400 a year after tax not including any benefits you get
2) They are currently being looked after by a local authority in England or Wales
3) They have left care in England or Wales through:
- An adoption
- A special guardianship order
- A child arrangement order
What should I do if I think my child is eligible?
All parents complete an FE1 Contract form when their child starts at the nursery school. There is a section on the form which you must complete to give us your consent to check if your child is eligible for EYPP. If you did not complete this section of the form when your child started at the nursery school, or if your circumstances have changed and you think your child is now eligible, please contact the school as soon as possible.
If you have any further questions about the EYPP, please ask Mrs Swiffin in the School Office.
Disability Access Fund (DAF)
You can apply to get disability access funding if your child is aged 3 or 4 and you’re receiving both:
- 15 hours free childcare - you do not need to use all of your hours to be eligible
- Disability living allowance for children
The nursery school could get £910 per year to help with their education and support. If you think your child may be eligible for this additional funding, please speak to the Headteacher.
